5 divisions of angels we must know

1.Seraphims

Isaiah 6:1-7

In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

The Seraphs are connected to God's glory. Their job is to reveal the glory of God in heaven by saying to one another holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

2. Cherubims

Ezekiel 1:4

4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man.

6 And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings.

7 And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass.

8 And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings.

9 Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward.

10 As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle.

The Cherubs are angels connected in protecting the glory of God. They are angels who cover God’s glory in heaven.

They respond to the work of the holy spirit in heaven of his will revealed.

3. Four Living Creatures

Revelation 4

6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.

8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

Might be similar to seraphs but they differ in actions. Seraphs cried holy to God on one another but the four living creatures say it directly to God. They look like cherubs but differ in appearance because they are covered by eyes while cherubs are not.

These angels deal with what is prophetic and worship.

4.Archangel

1 Thessalonians 4:16

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Revelation 14

7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Jude 1:9

But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

These angels are connected to warfare and the protection of the saints. They are the one who brings a message to the people for deliverance.

Archangel Michael is giving the charge to protect Jewish people as what written in Daniel 12:1

“Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued.

5. Common Angels

Hebrews 1:14

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

These angels are connected to the church. They are released to do the impossible when we pray. They have no wings. That’s why many seen angels unaware because they cannot see their wings. They look like strangers according to Hebrews 13:2 and they look like young men in Acts 1:10. They lead sinners to the Gospel but cannot preach on it as what happened to Cornelius as he was introduced to Peter by an angel written in Acts 10. Furthermore, they are with us all the time according to Psalm 34:7 if we fear the Lord. There are so many more verses in the bible about common angels.

These five divisions of angels are divided into two offices. The four divisions deal with the heavenly realm and the other one, the common angels deal with the earthly realm.

One thing we can do to make our angels work properly in our daily lives is to speak the word of God. Angels are dependent on the word of God as it is written Psalm 103:20-21.

20 Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21 Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

We can speak the word of God through prayers. Remember when Archangel Michael fought the devil in Revelation 14:7? The devil prevailed not because they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony. That word “they” in Revelation 14:11 is talking to the saints who apply the blood of the lamb and the word of God. Angels cannot apply the blood of the lamb because there’s no redemption on them. That’s why after Lucifer sinned, no more salvation was promised to him as Adam had. And by the way, the saints loved not their lives unto death for the reason they gave their lives for the sake of the gospel which is the word of God unlike satan, he continued to live even though he was sentenced to death before Christ reigned. The same we must apply the blood of Christ and the word of God to help our angels to gain their strength to protect us from our enemies, the Devil.

Conclusion

We, the church, the saints of God need the word of God for the sake of the angels to work in our lives. Imagine, you and your angel are together while in trouble but he cannot help you because you don't pray. That's why daily prayer is important in our daily lives. Applying the word of God and the blood of Christ every day makes the devil be bound. Without prayers, devils, and demons are loose in your place. We must stop them by declaring the word of God as written in Psalm 107:2 for them to flee.

Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.
